Scanner Color Space

  • Subject: Scanner Color Space

I have seen a scanner comparision chart that shows the color spaces of
the various compared scanners. Some apparently low end scanners are
showing their color spaces as RGB, CMYK and LAB. Whereas, some apparently
high-end scanners are only showing their color space as RGB.

My question is this:

What difference does it make to the CMYK output capability of a scanner,
if it's color space is only shown as RGB ?

Also, what difference does it make to the final color output capability
of a Scanner if it's color space is only RGB, or, RGB/CMYK/LAB ?

Thank you and Best Regards,

Babar Shah
