recent profiling problem

Thanks to all on the list who responded to my initial situation with profiling with Colorvision and Silverfast Ai 6.
I was getting a red colorcast on the test file print. I decided try the Epson TWAIN driver and it did not color-correct my calibration print, while Silverfast apparently did. I went to Options in Silverfast and set all to none, except RGB, and I set curves, etc. to defaults. It should not have color-corrected my scan, but it still does. When I move the marquee to the area of the image I want to scan, I can see the reds in the faces become fleshtone.
I initially thought Colorvision was problematic, but the resulting profiles with the TWAIN scans are very accurate. I also feel very positive about Silverfast, but I'm not sure why the color is still being corrected.
Maybe I'll toss the preferences and see what happens.
(Running iMac with Jaguar).
