After lurking this list for a considerable time, I'd like to thank you all
for the excellent colorsync education. Here is something you may be able to
help me with directly:
I have a Colorvision Spyder that is about 2 years old and a newer "Pantone"
Colorvision Spyder that is intended to calibrate both CRT and LCD displays.
I use them both with PhotoCal and have two colorimeters because our studio
has about 14 monitors spread throughout 5 individual areas. All of our color
critical monitors are Mitsubishi Diamond Pros, mostly 2040's and 2060's.
Recently I have noticed that the newer Spyder produces a profile that causes
the monitor to display a numerically neutral gray desktop noticably more
cyan than the older puck when calibrating the very same
computer/videocard/monitor. Can anyone help me understand why this would
happen? Is there a way for me to determine which of the two profiles is
more accurate?
