Clark,
Very interesting observations. And I agree with them.
I recently experienced the ColorBurst Rip. From that experience I saw that,
ColorBurst creates accurate color matches for RGB, CMYK and Hex workflows.
Some of the ColorBurst Rips many offerings include a custom lineraization,
tools for independently limiting inks, works with and without ICC profiles,
previewing, nesting, an OEM version of Profile City printer profiling app
that comes with the product. There are more options but those of some key
highlights of the product. I am sure that if you need more that you could
contact ColorBurst or perhaps some others on this list who work with it more
than I do will comment.
But what struck me about this product, was that while the ColorBurst Rip has
tools that can do complex things, overall it is very easy to setup and use.
It works well and is not brain surgery. I also think that the ColorBurst
rip has its share of warts (currently it is a Windows only program), but
they are small compared to the other products in the market. Overall this a
product to consider in the pack of rips you mentioned.
My .02.
Jim Rich
