Try placing your display profile in:

/Users/~you/Library/ColorSync/Profiles

instead of the globally accessible Library folder. I had a similar problem on my machine, and moving the profile fixed it. You shouldn't need to reboot - just set the profile in the Displays preference panel.

To see if the preference 'sticks', just log out and back in. No reboot necessary. With this setup, other users of the same machine can't use the profile unless you copy it to their ColorSync directory.
