Color Lasers that do not have exotic temperature and humidity controls built
in do indeed fluctuate with the weather. One possibility would be to use a
preprofile linearization to minimize the number of patches you need to read
to build a replacement profile. If that linearization could be seperate from
the profile (rather than a curve sandwiched into the profile) then you
continue to use the same profile with the new linearization instead of having
to constantly change to new profiles, which is particularly problematic if
you have to hard convert files to that space.
Another view of this situation is that the job description of junior
designers includes reprofiling the laser every second day... I know of shops
where its the first chore every morning; start the coffee, and while it
drips, profile the laser!
