Hi All,
Could you please comment on the new file format options proposed in PS
7.0 ?
In Photoshop 6.1, when I saved a scanner TIFF file after editing it with
layers, it was automatically saved in Photoshop format. Now, in PS7, the
default file format is TIFF multilayer, which I think is a new format.
If I chose to save in Photoshop format, I have an option box for
maximizing the compatibility. When unchecked, this option saves a lot of
disk space for the files are approximately half the size, but there is a
warning that the files might not be compatible with future versions of
Photoshop. I understand that this Photoshop lean format does not include
a composite image and therefore cannot be opened by other softwares.
Other than that, does it lose any information or cause any degradation
to the image? Is there a possibility to set this lean format as default
w/o having to answer all the option boxes? Thanks!
Paul Schilliger
