As they say on the product info, if you want more than the basic HP 10/20
driver you have to opt for a rip. As I understand it in OsX if you print
out a non Postscript file you'll be passing thru a color conversion from the
temp PDF file which will assume default profiles for that device ID. So it
should be possible to make a profile from this data yet it won't be NCA,
thus left up to the color space restriction that it has seen.
I can say that this printer is worthless without a better rip. Best have not
said when or if there will be a MacOsX version, but the driver might be a
good starting point point towards that.
Just today I was reading a review, MacUser UK on the A3 inkjets and the
times that the HP20 took for a single A3 rip +- print was 3 hours
something. Well with Best ColorProof the rip time is around 2 minutes for my
A3 prints , full bleed color at 1200X1200, and 15 minutes to print. Hardware
without the soft really isn't worth the time.
