I shared about that malfunctioning of my system: the Optical monitor
profile was switched to something else when I launched the scanning app.
With the help of C.D. Tobbie, I was able to locate the problem to the
fact that the Eversmartscan application, when set to ICC scanning,
somehow recalls the monitor profile when it is launched. But instead of
using the current Optical profile, it goes to the old Monitor control
panel that is normally overridden by Optical, and chooses whatever
profile is set there in the box. It can be the monitor calibration
profile or it can be anything older. Why does Optical not automatically
change the profile in that box to the current profile, I don't know and
maybe there is something wrong in my configuration, or with OS 9.1. But
a safe precaution will be after every calibration procedure, to check
the ColorSync and Monitor control panel and see if the new profile has
been assigned, otherwise set it manually.
My thanks to C.D. Tobbie for his patient help in resolving this problem!
