Besides the large-aperture instruments, I believe a worthy
approach to this might be scanner-based profiling.
Monaco EZColor, for example, coupled with almost any
scanner, preferably A3 in order to use large patches; and
some blurring and scaling (I believe actually median filter
is the one to use?) of the scanned target before processing.
You might need to print and scan the target in parts
(various pages) and assemble them in Photoshop before
feeding into the software.
