If you demand a white point a lot different from the native 6500, then the
profile would dull down a couple of the color channels to reach that
different white balance, making the overall brightness lower. You might want
to go back and reprofile at your new brightness, as the previous profile is
not valid now that you have changed it. I find the Apple Displays happiest
calibrated at their native whitepoint.
