Inkjet proofs on Press

I was just wondering if anybody out there using these wide-format inkjets
(Epson, HP, whatever) and accompanying RIPs (take your pick) has met any
resistance from printing companies claiming they are not "certified"
proofs, at least compared to a IRIS or MatchPrint or Approval. My sense is
that fewer and fewer people are using these much more expensive processes
and going with the significantly cheaper inkjet/RIP combo. I'd be curious
to hear anybody's experiences when bringing these proofs to their printing
companies.
