Anytime you go from a calibrated system out to the un-calibrated
world you could be in for having your images be too light, dark, too
consratsy
whatever the un-calibrated monitor has for its temperature
and other settings. Sure you know this. I would not recommend making
the images right for the wrong space, however you can easily make an
action in Photoshop to lighten the images, etc. Serious
image/graphics folks will be hard calibrated and those are the ones
you should aim for.
When we need to purpose images for web (and web only) we take the
image(s) and increase the saturation between 20-40% and apply the
unsharp mask at 100%, saving at jpeg level 7. This way some of the
"loss" of the image being viewed in communicator or explorer can be
regained. Your question brings up an interesting thought of getting
the image wrong so it will look right in a dark cold blue space.
