I have a slightly different problem to Paul Schilliger in that I work in a
repro house and get CMYK files from a vast array of clients from all over
the world hardly any of which have ICC profiles embedded. Some are scans of
photos, some are digital camera shots converted any old how to CMYK, some
scanned on high end drum scanners (I am trying to get round to profiling
these but it's a long process), some on cheapo flat bed scanners. Sometimes
using our Eurostandard profile as input space works well, sometimes it
doesn't, sometime perceptual works better than relative colourmetric and
sometimes vice-versa. Does anyone know of a way to achieve consistency in a
workflow given this situation?
