You pay your money, and you take your choice. If you don't mind
the profile being slightly inaccurate because of differences between
your machine and the reference machine used to create the profiles,
then use the default supplied calibration curve.
If you value color accuracy and consistency, invest in a densitometer,
and keep your machine calibrated. Anybody interested in proofing,
will do the latter.
