I know it's <old> technology but - will I find a way of using my trusty
WallStreet [ATIRageLTPro 233 model] with ProfileMaker Pro??
I irregularly use it on my Wallstreet 250 with OS 9.2.2 and OS X 10.2
with no problems. However, with 10.2, after you install ProfileMaker
4.1, make sure you install the separate aksusbd. It should now come
with the ProfileMaker Pro download, but I think it's a separate
installer still. This newer USB dongle daemon is necessary with 10.2 or
you get dongle weirdness.
I was planning to stick to OS 9.1 for now, but would love to add a
Powerlogix 500G4 processor upgrade so it will run Jaguar. Any
Powerlogix success (or other) stories?
The main issue with the Wallstreet and OS X is RAM. The more RAM you
have the better it will run. 10.2 runs better than 10.1 does. The main
issue with ProfileMaker 4.1 is that it takes while for it to make a
profile. I think it's something like 5 or 10 minutes depending on what
kind of profile and whether you use Default or Large. But unlike with
OS 9, at least you can easily do other things with the machine when
running X and building profiles.
So, if possible, I'd still like to get the WallStreet running with
ProfileMaker Pro 4.1, and I understand that., of course, means a USB
Cardbus card for the dongle and the eyeOne - looks like I have a choice
of MacAlly or Adaptec for that.
I'm using a MacAlly USB CardBus Card with only one problem. It does not
appear, nor do any devices appear, in Apple System Profiler. ASP is
totally clueless when it comes to the USB card and devices attached to
it. Everything else sees the USB bus including ProfileMaker.
