I know this is a tech question that maybe best asked directly to GM tech
support (and I eventually will) but I was wondering if anyone else, here,
has ever experienced any problems interfacing an EyeOnePro to a PowerBook G3
500Mhz in *strips* mode reading? It's as though there are lot's of time outs
or loss of communication between the i1 and my PB.
I think I use the i1 correctly. For starters, I always wait for the beep
from the software (I use PM4 Measure Tool) after pressing and holding the
read button with my thumb *before* I start scanning.
As far as speed is concerened, I have tried scanning slow and scanning fast.
But it did not improve the result. I've also tried varying the time that the
i1 rests on the white paper before starting to scan. Same thing with the
time after I've scan the patches with still no discernible improvements?
Just to give you an idea, I regularely have to do 5 or 6 attempts on each
strips before the program accepts the patches. Not normal, it seems. Would
defeat the whole purpose of scanning in strips in the first place, doesn't
it?
My EyeOnePro is plugged directly into the back of my PB in one of the two
available USB port. The other port is occupied by the mouse.
