The Fujix Pictro printers use Closed-Loop Color Calibration, and include an
auto calibrator. Can close-looped equipment be profiled? and how is the
profile implemented since the loop is closed? sorry for my true ignorance.
And what about the auto calibrator? isn't it good enough?

Yes the Fujix Pictro printers do have a color calbrator, which does a great
job of keeping the printer in a "known" repeatable state... perfect for
profiling, just keep in mind that they should be profiled as RGB devices.

All our prints to the P3000 are exports from Photoshop, so our workflow is
a simple profile conversion from our working space (Adobe RGB 98) to the
custom profile of the printer just prior to export. Simple, and it works great.
