To successfully color manage a hardware configuration, you have to be
able to calibrate it to a target condition.
The calibration mechanism is part of the hardware product and not part
of the ICC color management product (except for monitors). For
instance, on a scanner there is internal lamp calibration, and on a
digital printer there is a built-in densitometer (or a loose
spectrodensitometer instrument to use with the product's own
calibration software).
If the color space a hardware configuration forms is not as large as
possible, you can't hope to simulate remote color spaces. And if the
color space formed by the hardware configuration is not stable, the
color space captured in your ICC profile will not relate to the actual
behaviour of the hardware configuration. Briefly, the configuration
will drift away from under the color profile.
Use the built-in calibration of the Fuji printer to optimize and
stabilize the color space. Then capture the color space in an ICC
printer profile for co-workers and customers to use.
