Your midtone gray patch (e.g. 50c,39m39y) should reflect even densities for c,m,&y. Your solid ink densities might not be the same; this depends on the inkset. In sheetfed offset (GRACOL), for example, the solid inks will be around {k=1.7, c=1.4,m=1.5,y=1.05) when printing a neutral midtone.

OK, what are the rules to get a good gray balance with Status E?

I think is necessary to have all inks (CMY) with a very similar ink
density value.

Is that correct?
