Input on what I should be using is greatly appreciated. I currently use

Adobe RGB, 1.8. gamma, 6500k on a Sony CRT's (24" GDM -FW900 and a 19").
For clarification ... you are using AdobeRGB (and its 2.2 gamma), and
compensating relative to your gamma=1.8 monitor space, with monitors which
have a native gamma>2.4(?) Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are asking
Colorsync to create a 1.8 CLUT relative to >2.4, and then you're asking PS
to create a 2.2 CLUT relative to 1.8. This is too much to ask of CM
software working with 8bit precision, and is why many have opted for
gamma=2.2 monitor calibration (exceptions being monitors with a native
gamma=1.8).
cheerios ... shAf :o)
