What you can do is set the color settings so Adobe RGB is the Working space
(matching the known but NOT embedded colorspace of the files) and turn the
RGB Policy to "Ignore" so you don't get the warning. The files will preview
correctly since the assumption of the data and the RGB Working Space are the
same (Photoshop assumes all untagged files are Adobe RGB). You'll avoid
getting the warning which is a hassle. Now all you have to do is insure that
when you save the files, you embed Adobe RGB (which can be done with an
Apple script or in the Save dialog. The checkbox is sticky so once you click
to embed that profile, it should default to being on).
Make your own custom Color Setting for just using the Nikon since other
workflows may not be as happy with these settings.
