Hogwash. They have nothing in common. For the "make it look the way I want"
concept to work, you need a display that's in a consistent, profiled and
repeatable condition (something that Gamma can't do since the person
calibrating and profiling is using a "device" (their eyes) that isn't any of
the above). Once the display is in a condition that is accurate and
repeatable, the best tool for altering color and tone is the instrument
between and just above your nose!
ACR expects a profiled display and then expects human intervention to
produce the color that user wants. Knoll Gamma is expecting the user to be a
colorimeter of some type and produce something that has absolutely nothing
to do with producing an appearance the user wants from an image.
Trying to pair the two is a bit of a stretch to say the least...
