THANKS FOR THE POINT. "CLICK" BALANCING IS EASY. YET NOT ALWAYS PRACTICAL,
THIS I DO AGREE WITH.
TO ME THIS IS THE SPECIFIC RUB, AND IT IS CALLED WORKFLOW. I WORK WITH
COMMERCIAL, EVENT, WEDDING AND FASHION SHOOTERS DAILY.
THE ISSUE IS KNOWING WHEN, WHERE AND HOW TO "CLICK" BALANCE.
BELIEVE IT OR NOT MY BIGGEST "RUB" ISNT WITH THE "ACR" APPROACH. IT IS WITH
THE CAMERA MANUFACTURERS THAT DON9T ALLOW "FRIENDLY, TIMELY AND FLEXIBLE"
BALANCING PROCEDURES.
WHEN LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT DSLR LOOK AT THE USER SOFTWARE.
WHEN SELECTING A CAMERA LOOK FOR FEATURES THAT ALLOW EASY CLICK BALANCING IN
CAMERA AND THE FLEXIBILITY TO "CLICK" BALANCE LATER.
BY HAVING THE ABILITY TO "CLICK" BALANCE LATER, THE BALANCING PROCESS DOES
WORK IN ALL CASES. IT DOESN9T IMPEED YOUR ABILITY TO BALANCE IN ANY
ENVIRONMENT. HOW TO IMPLEMENT THE "BALANCE LATER"? SIMPLY ONE OF YOUR
FRAMES INCLUDES A SHOT OF A GREY CARD. I WOULDN9T BEGIN TO SUGGEST, "STOP
WHAT YOUR DOING AND WADE THROUGH THE MULTIPLE WINDOWS TO LOCATE "PRESETS" ON
THE NIKON 1DX, IM SAYING SIMPLY HAVE A SHOT OF THE CARD YOU CAN REFERENCE
LATER IN YOUR "FRIENDLY APPLICATION SOFTWARE".
BY DOING SO, A WELL CONSTRUCTED PROFILE WILL WORK IN MOST ALL CONDITIONS.
ONE MORE APPROACH IS TO CONSIDER TREATING THE CAMERA LIKE FILM. FOR YEARS
WE SHOT DAYLIGHT FILM UNDER MOST LIGHTING CONDITIONS AND EITHER ACCEPTED THE
WARMER OR COOLER FRAMES, OR ADJUSTED THEM TO SUIT. IF YOU USE WHAT WE WOULD
CALL AND "UNBIASED" PROFILE, THEN YOU ARE IN THE SAME POSITION ACCEPT THAT
SOME OF THE CAMERAS BAD COLOR HABITS (BLUES GOING PURPLE) HAVE BEEN FIXED ON
THE FLY. LIKE THE WARM OR COOL CAST, KEEP IT. WANT A MORE NEUTRAL LOOK,
MAKE THE MINOR ADJUSTMENT TO SUIT.
