No, there are several things you might want to do in such circumstances.
First you need to be sure your monitor is accurately calibrated, so that you
are not chancing ghosts. Then determine if both the softproof and the print
are similarly off, or if they are different.
If they are both similarly off, then simply record and action that corrects
the softproof to your desired result, and both will be corrected.
If the print is as desired, and the softproof is off (less common) then you
can edit a copy of the profile for the desired softproof result, and name
that version specificly for softproofing, while using the original for
printing.

then build those adjustments back into the original profile. So you have the
choice of using them seperately, or using some other utility to replace the
original proofing table with the edited one.
