Thanks. I've used the product (with various success and failures) with
various instruments but since the ONLY way I can work with the software
under OSX with the Spectrophotometer's I had was to use the EyeOne. But
apparently there is a nasty bug in the software as two of us have confirmed
that the targets can't be loaded. So the class is now painfully aware not of
my issues in pre-testing software that SHOULD work but in software that has
a serious bug.

The software installer is broken then? The installer doesn't remove the
WRONG targets? It doesn't install the right targets? Something is broken.
Must be user error (despite the fact that on at least one machine, I have no
memory of the product ever being installed, it's not even my Mac!).

Hogwash. The installer should do this. There are NO invisible files under
OSX that installers create? Maybe not with ProfilerPro but none the less,
the installer is pretty stupid if it's not able to remove the INCORRECT
files. What's worse, the dialog comes up and tells you it can't find the
targets and where to look and low and behold, there are the targets! They
may be the wrong ones so I blame again the installer and/or the error
dialog.

I'm using 4.1.1 and I'm not going to waste my time with 125 patches. We've
been down this road before. I'm glad to see Color Vision finally removed
that silly 25 patch (or whatever it was) version that never worked. To an
ink jet (Epson 2200) 125 isn't going to fly. But then the 729 set didn't
work either as I've reported. But how long should I try and force a screwy
piece of software to work under a class environment when I have plenty of
other packages that do work as they should???
I was able to install and use half a dozen other packages so far with no
issues with legacy files. And I did find the targets and manually opened
them so unless they are the wrong ones (which I kind of suspect), then the
problem with the reference file makes sense. But the bottom line is this was
a mess.

So the answer is: Yes, I've found that ProfilerPRO works with an EyeOne under

That will be an EXCELLENT class assignment (to have a student call tech
support and see if they can fix the issues). I tell my students that tech
support and documentation are important things to look into when deciding to
purchase a profile package. This will be a good test since so far, all the
other packages we've worked on seem to run as they should.
