EyeOne Match 2.0 was posted the other night so you can get that software
now.
The differences in EyeOne Display and the older unit is quite a bit in
regards to the look and technology. The newer unit is a Colorimeter and is
much less expensive ($249 verses $600). I have both and did beta on Match
2.0 and can't say I see any difference in the resulting quality of the
calibration/profiling on the one CRT I worked with. The good news is the
software is MUCH improved in dealing with the display. In the past I didn't
really like it much but 2.0's algorithm's must be quite different because
now I'm seeing some really nice results with the new software and both the
newer and older hardware. Unless you're in a huge hurry I can't see why
you'd want to spend more money for the older EyeOne instead of the EyeOne
Display. The EyeOne Pro is the device that can read reflective to produce
output profiles. It too works well with the new software. A newer unit
allows you to use the newer Ambient light goodie to measure a light source
which will be handy when the next Rev of ProfileMaker Pro ships. You'll be
able to build an output profile using this measured data.
