From the recent postings on the list, I gather that the Frontier paper gamut
is pretty small. About the size of sRGB everyone says. But, what about the
gamut of a LightJet or a Lambda? For those who've had the chance to profile
these babies hands on, would you agree that these devices are best
characterized as having color gamuts that are *larger* than a Frontier? And
if so, it must be a function of the photographic paper they use. Are any of
the paper used in these two machines different than the regular Crystal
Archive Digital (Fuji) or Pro Photo Paper (Kodak)? I remember seeing some
prints coming off Lambdas and LightJets at a local photo lab, recently, but
I don't recall the colors to be particularely desaturated or lacking range.
(Mind you, I should beware that color memory is probably playing tricks on
me)
I am trying to find reasons *not* to use sRGB for digital photography.
