Spyders in the US have a clear filter; its only the Canadian ones that have a
blue ones to deal with the radiation caused by being too close to the North
Pole...
But seriously; there is a lot of glass in a CRT, and none in an LCD. The
filter is used to eliminate the infrared that plastic LCD displays don't
screen out, which can effect the readings at other points in the spectrum.
The filter is accounted for in the calibration of the Spyder for LCDs...
which comes into play when you choose the LCD radio button in the software.
