Dot gain is not a fraction expression of the original dot. I used to think
that, a long time ago. Now, I know that if I send 50% Cyan from Adobe
Illustrator of Photoshop, to the press, that 50% dot will grow (however it
choose to do that) to a 74% dot, on coated glossy paper on sheeted press.
