I have another question regarding the LAB values. As Chris pointed out
I
should use the absolute colorimetric setting in Photoshop's Color
Settings
in order to see the correct LAB values if I want to check the profiling
results. But while the LAB values change with different rendering
intents it
seems that the color of the patches does not change. I thought that the
monitor profile translates the device independant LAB values into
device
dependant monitor RGB values. What am I missing ???
The rendering intent in Color Settings does not control the rendering
intent to the display. The rendering intent to the display is, by
default Relative Colorimetric with Black Point Compensation. You would
need to use the controls in Proof Setup to change the rendering intent
to the display and your options are RelCol w/o BPC, or AbsCol - by
using the Ink Black and Paper White check boxes.
