Thanks for your comments regarding Colorblind Edit v5:

(A) is inadequate for use as an IMAGE editor in it's present state
(based on

my Beta Testing -- haven't had time to look at the full release version)

=20

I would definitely recommend checking our release version first. Please
feel free contacting myself to obtain a demo version. On the other hand,
Edit v5 has been designed as a profile editing software, not as an image
editing software.

=20

B) for now still has no batch functions.

=20

Edit v5 is not supporting batch functions. Edit Server v5 will. It will
be a different product with different pricing, just like our version 4
product line.=20

Thanks for the help on this. I have followed Marc's procedure to a T and

even uipgraded both of my machines to 10.2.6 (which may have been a
mistake

-- it now doesn't want to wake from sleep mode). I have not had the
success

that you describe, either on my Dual 500mhz Desktop or my 667mhz
Powerbook.

I thought that by plugging in the iMate after OSX was running, then
booting

Classic and using the OS9 Control Panel to REINIT the iMate, it would
find

it. Alas, both machines still report the all of my demo sessions are
used

up, as if there is no dongle attached. I have a second iMate around here

somewhere, so I'll try that, but this one works fine if you boot OS9

directly. Just such a pain if I am only going to run one or two images

through.=20

=20

Another workaround for this may be that at a colleague's studio last
week,

CB Matchbox ran fine in Classic using his ColorMouse as the dongle via a

Keyspan serial adapter. I may try to locate my Keyspan and ColorMouse
and

see if that works. Then at least I could work in Classic with Matchbox
Edit

for one or two images, then if I need the Batch functions of Edit Server
I

would have to reboot in 9. This still doesn't help when I eventually
move to

a G5 machine that will not boot into OS9, and the new version of Edit
for

OS-X=20

I am somewhat concerned that the IREC folks are looking at Edit as
strictly

a tool for profile editing, and abandoning the great image editing

capabilities of the OS9 version. Again, thanks for your help.
