Profile both, then turn down the brightness on the brightest one to make it
match the other one, and reprofile. This should get you pretty close.
If you upgrade to ProfileMaker you can make a target of the lesser monitor
and use that to calibrate the better on to which shold give you a REALLY
good match.

Depending on how you look at it it's either a limitation of the older
monitor or the i1 software...
