turn out sRGB.
That's called data loss. I'd complain to the vendor.
The OS X version of the same plug-in will embed "bogus mac profile"
when no
profile is specified. I'm still testing to see if I can get a file
with no
profile, or with a custom profile (instead of sRGB).
Photoshop CS comes with JPEG 2000 plug in that will embed the
document's assigned profile. There is no other option (embed profile is
checked and grayed, you can't not embed). But I've found a couple of
Preview related bugs in Panther:
1. Preview does not recognize files with *.jpf as a valid file. I have
to change it to *.jp2.
2. Preview ignores the embedded profile and uses monitor RGB instead.
3. If you resave the image as JP2 from Preview, it embeds sRGB.
Oops.
While tearing my hair out one fistful at a time - I'm wondering if
other
ColorSinkers have been working with this file format, and have been
able to
save with the profile they request versus some default. Any
suggestions
are most welcome.
Looks like Photoshop CS at this point. JPEG 2000 plug in is not
installed by default, it's in the Goodies folder on the install CD.
