jpeg2000 and embedded profiles

Hi,
I've been asked to do a task that requires the use of jpeg 2000 profiles.
I've downloaded Photoshop plug-ins from two different companies, and am
just making my way through this new jungle.

Reading some sketchy documentation it seems that every file saved in this
format must contain a source ICC profile.

Unfortunately if I use one vendor's plug-in on a Windows platform (PS 7) -
it always embeds an sRGB profile. It doesn't seem to matter if a different
profile is specified, or if NO profile is specified - it still seems to
turn out sRGB.

The OS X version of the same plug-in will embed "bogus mac profile" when no
profile is specified. I'm still testing to see if I can get a file with no
profile, or with a custom profile (instead of sRGB).

While tearing my hair out one fistful at a time - I'm wondering if other
ColorSinkers have been working with this file format, and have been able to
save with the profile they request versus some default. Any suggestions
are most welcome.

-Greg
