On Mac OS 10.2, untagged RGB data in PDF will be tagged with the
Generic RGB profile
Ah, I was thinking of non-PDF images.
I looked into this and I don't see this behavior in Preview when
opening a .pdf without an embedded profile. So at least on Panther
with Preview, .pdf display is treated the same as other image types,
meaning untagged image data is assumed to be in the display's color
space (or primary display if more than one).
