Do you seriously expect web sites to add 4k of data to every JPEG,
just to indicate that it's sRGB, when the W3C standards say that
untagged RGB is assumed to be sRGB?
And equal chances of failure? Inasmuch as it's 50-50 for any image, I
guess you're right, but there are a great many more untagged images
floating around in sRGB than there are floating around in my monitor
RGB, because
a) I'm the only person who could possibly create them, and
b) I make a point of never, ever, doing so.
I really think this is an indefensible decision, but I certainly give
you credit for trying to do so.
