According to this URL Apple has proposed doing just that to the W3C. I
don't know the status of this proposal.

But I can say that Safari, OmniWeb, only pass test #1 which is the
embedding of profiles in images themselves.
Internet Explorer passes test #1, 2 and 3. I can't imagine at this
point why we'd want any of them to pass test #4.
Anyone have a Windows box handy to test IE 5/6 with these tests?
