some more questions for those who have the time and
are kind enough to help...
1) the 'ccm' option in the colorsync utility on
panther--there is a choice between automatic and
apple--what's the difference?
2) what does 'ddc' stand for?
3) how does one create a cutsom profile (other than
the one coming from the print driver) for a printer?
4) colorsync doesn't recognize my scanner as a device.
is this a problem (or does it correct itself when i
scan with a calibrated profile)?
5) which profile should i be embedding in my .tiff
images (i.e. my personalized monitor profile, scanner
profile from target slide, or a generic/adobe/other)?
the following questions may deviate from the realm of
colorsync, but i'm desparate...
6) is there any advantage/disadvantage to importing
files into photoshop with 'twain'? furthermore, anyone
familiar with silverfast and/or scanwizard--is there
an advantage/disadvantage to one over the other
(keeping in mind that scanwizard is the scanner
manufacturer's software)?
7) better to scan 35 mm slides and negatives in ppi or
lpi (assuming the image will be photoshoped and
printed)?
8) what should the intent be set to (i.e. perceptual,
relative, absolute, etc...)?
s'pose that's it (for now), thanks for all your help.
