Anyone take this seriously? When I first got it I would occasionally
run it, and all was well. Now, my device fails the Reflectance spot
measurement test, even though it appears to be functioning.
Interestingly, it also initially fails dark calibration in ErgoSoft's
StudioPrint which interacts with it directly.

So, should I feel "fine" with my device failing the diagnostic software
that came with it? Anyone have experience with this or know more about
it?
Dear Tyler
I whole heartily agree with your sentiments. How the heck can one
proceed with an instrument that is failing to attain the standard set by
the makers? That surely is the whole point of having a diagnostic
programme! For the manufacturers to suggest you ignore it seems to me
to fly in the face of all reason. I for one will feel dubious about
'investing' in their technology. If this is their reaction to your
problems!
Just as a matter of interest, the Digital Swatchbook (X-rite DTP22) we
have here for several years, although perhaps now considered a tad long
in the tooth has always passed it's self test, and always reads the same
numbers from it's inbuilt test tile. This is the basic stability I
like to see in an instrument!
Cheers
Richard
