Have you looked at eBay? There's always loads of SCSI cards offered in
various conditions for real cheap. Take a look at "ATTO ExpressPCI UL2D SCSI
Card Item # 3400038527" that currently auction for $20! I admit the cable
might prove expensive if you have to buy it new from a computer store. But I
have not looked around for the cable... That's a card I am actually
considering for my powermac G4 as I am thinking of buying an AIT tape drive.

You could pick up a Umax PowerLook 1100 on eBay for $150 that is FireWire.
UMAX Powerlook 1100 Scanner w/ Trans Adapter Item # 3004772834. That's the
scanner I use for my own work. It used to cost $1000 plus. And it works
under OSX with Hamrick's ViewScan. There was a MagicScan Beta v5 for OSX but
it ceased to work the moment I upgraded to Jaguar.

Take a look on eBay, Tony. They always have all *kinds* of scanners, all the
time, and large format scanners too.
