The epson 3200 seems to be good, but never testet it myself; ist
about 500 $, with FireWire and cames with Silverfats light....

There is not much to do with Heidelberg Scanners in OS-X, unless they
work with Silverfast. That guy statet, he'll get to work all
heidelberg scanners, but never really saw it.

One alternative would be to keep a older mac (as G3 b/w, with OS-9)
as a scanstation.
