Does anybody know how to change
the default of XP to my 1.8 and get it to stay there.
1.
Eye One Match (the software) installs a shortcut in: \Documents and
Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup that links to: \Program
Files\GretagMacbeth\i1\CalibrationLoader.
On startup, Windows XP uses this shortcut to automatically launch the
CalibrationLoader program, which restores the LUT tables in the video
card. However, you can make your own shortcut, stick it on the desktop,
and then after wake from sleep, click on the shortcut to run the
CalibrationLoader program to restore LUTs at anytime.
That this information isn't being restored on wake from sleep is
probably a video card driver bug, but I'm not that familiar with
Windows XP. I'd make sure you have the latest drivers, and if you do
you might consider reporting it to the video card manufacturer.
2.
Gamma 1.8 is antiquated. The reason(s) it exists no longer apply. So
I'd calibrate everything to gamma 2.2. Note this doesn't solve your
underlying problem - which is that calibration is not restored. So even
if you go to a gamma 2.2, you should still run the CalibrationLoader
when waking the machine from sleep.
