InDesign 1.5 Grayscale profiles

Dear All,
I'm saving .tif files out of Photoshop 7, with the Grayscale Gamma 2.2
profile embedded.
When I try to import these into InDesign 1.5, in the Image Import
Options/Color Management tab, where I normally specify the image profile for
RGB images, the Profile menu is grayed out.
Does this mean that InDesign is not recognizing the grayscale profiles
embedded in these images?
Can anyone shed any light on the implications of this for printing B&W
images from InDesign?
