The "+ calibration" version has alternating CMYK solids to measure any
non-linearity in press ink zones. ProfileMaker compensates for a row if
there was variability across the chart from measuring the solids. This ain't
post-linearization and it doesn't help in uniform coverage devices like
inkjets but can be helpful in nasty toner (laser) printers in addition to
printing presses.
The ECI chart is not designed for linearization but characterization.
Post-linearization is handled by ProfileEditor by "updating" a profile using
the CMYK-Linearization file in your testchart folder.
