The D1x may well be problematic -- I've never shot one, so I have no
experience to go by, but undoubtedly some vendors' QA is better than
others.
Some people, shooting under some very specific conditions, may well get
better
results using a custom profile than they do using the generics built into
CR.
I don't count myself among them, nor did any of teh beta-testers. That's
all.
I am getting more and more curious since so much testing has been done and
yet the Nikon, being as popular as it is,..............just what were tests
done with?
Since this list tends to deal with specifics, I only think that we ask the
same.
And with regards to the NIKON, I think problematic may be more in line with
the original D1 yet the D1x is a rather fine example of a high volume
install base, higher end DSLR definitely of more professional caliber.
Are we talking about beta-testers which were primarily using 3point and
shoot2 cameras or higher end DSLRs or Camerabacks?
Mostly higher-end DSLRs, I believe, plus at least one ProBack 645,
although it isn't officially supported.
I know the list included Canon G2, D30, D60, 1D, 1Ds, Nikon D1, D1x,
D100, and Fuji S2.
