Yes I think so. If I remember correctly it is the printer driver that
creates a Color Rendering Dictionary from the linked profile and I would
have thought that this will be influenced by the OS CMM.

I have used a 7700 from a Mac, using Quark in the way you mentioned, and
have had good results.
