I saw this to on a file Ian sent me and I forward it to Thomas to check out.
I'm not seeing anything like this with the 1Ds.

I thought that might be a work-around. Do we really know what the "right"
exposure is with raw data anyway? Still, with another RAW converter, the
same file came in with plenty of highlight detail. So exposure compensation
may be the fix but it appears the data is there in the first place. I hope
Thomas can look over the file and come up with an explanation.
