Actually, I'm having very good success with the ColorChecker DC. I don't
have a lot of experience with other targets so I don't have much with which
to compare my results; however, I'm usually very close - not exact, but
close - on my display and initial proofs to the originals.
I am using the ColorChecker DC primarily for repro with very controlled,
repeatable lighting set ups. I have removed the die-cut cardboard face of
the chart (which started to lift off from day one) to avoid any shadows from
the set lights and to facilitate reading with a Spectroscan; I build the
profiles using the scanner module in ProfileMaker Pro.

I'd be curious to see the kinds of results you're getting?
I'd be happy to send you a side by side comparison of camera space edits vs.
Adobe RGB (1998) edits if you wish.
Thanks,
Jim Morris
