hmmm, interesting....how about this:

66 patch (11 column x 6 row) custom target in MeasureTool v4.1.1 measured and saved spectral data both as cxf and text files. When I try to open either in ColorLab it says 'wrong format'.

Any ideas on how to get ColorLab to recognize a custom target?

Check that you have the right number of patches specified in the file, and the right number of measurements to correspond to the patches.

ColorLab also crashes (OSX) every time I try to compare ECI2002 i1.txt reference and sample files. Anyone else experience this type of crash. (Haven't tried with other targets yet.)

It looks like the Compare function broke with Jaguar (2 days after we finished the ^%$^% book!) Workaround is to use MeasureTool to do the comparison once you've massaged the data files in ColorLab.
